Care
By this we know love, that Jesus laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth (1 John 3:16-18).
Whether experiencing the grind of everyday life, the stretching of new responsibilities or specific personal challenges, finding spiritual counsel, understanding and practical support is of great importance. Lincoln Square Presbyterian Church (LSPC) seeks to be a community that welcomes, supports and cares for one another. Please contact us so we can talk about ways to be of help.
Meals Ministry
Whether it be the blessing of a new child or the struggle of personal difficulties or sickness, having someone provide you a meal is a practical support and tangible expression of God's care. If you have need and would like to request meals please contact Rebecca Wiltberger.
Prayer
In your personal prayers the reading and meditating on psalms is often helpful (especially during times of difficulty). A few psalms of comfort and encouragement: Psalm 3, Psalm 5, Psalm 43, Psalm 46, Psalm 121. Also, if you would like to share a prayer request with the pastor and/or the church community contact Pastor Chad Lewis.
Here are a few other ways to experience the care of the church community:
- On Sundays, come forward after the worship service to speak or pray with the worship leader or speaker.
- Attend LSPC’s weekly prayer time - Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Giddings Plaza (Lincoln Ave and Giddings Ave.). If you have questions you can contact Pastor Chad Lewis.
- Join a small group - these are great places to ask questions, pray with others and become part of a community. To join a small group, email Erik Borggren.
