History
Lincoln Square Presbyterian Church is a congregation within the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and is located within the bounds of the Chicago Metro Presbytery. We are a church plant of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Chicago. Covenant is located in the Bucktown neighborhood (2012 W. Dickens).

In 2006, the leadership of Covenant began intentionally praying about how the church could love and minister to Chicago. A conviction that came out of these prayers was that one of the primary ways to love the city was to plant new church communities that proclaim and embody the gospel of Christ. In 2007 steps were taken to plan a Covenant church plant and find a church planting pastor.

Following an announcement in January 2009 that Covenant planned on planting a church in Lincoln Square, a core group began to meet regularly to pray for this new church. At the heart of this group was the question, “What would it look like for a church to love and serve its neighborhood?” This core group developed into a community as they met through the spring and summer of 2009. Many of the core group members lived in or near Lincoln Square; others moved into the neighborhood.

Lincoln Square Presbyterian Church became a recognized mission congregation in the PCA in April 2009, and we started Sunday worship in September 2009.
